8:30PM: Open Floor Dance
9:15PM: Cool Down

The goal of this event is to create a regularly occurring space for cultural and traditional music and dance. This will be a space to learn dance technique, practice, enjoy and grow confidence in dancing styles from across the SWANA diaspora. This will be a space that is accessible and encouraging to all levels of skill and ability, with no dance experience necessary. This will be a space for historical, social, and political contextualization of dance and music styles with an educational approach that honors the people/cultures of origin. This will be a space for participation, questions, stories, collaboration, and song requests! This will be an opportunity to move your body, wear your cultural garments, and connect with the community!
